Friday, November 25: Regularly scheduled service is planned. If your office will be closed and won’t require service, please email us. Any items picked up today (for next-day service) will be delivered Monday, November 28 (unless Saturday delivery arrangements are necessary).
SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2022
Blue Streak is proud to support Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to strengthening communities by supporting local small businesses. The US Senate officially recognized Small Business Saturday in 2010, and it has become a wonderful, successful way to increase patronage of local businesses. We encourage you shop small on Nov. 26.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN? LOGISTICS LEXICON
This month in our Logistics Lexicon series, we discuss in-transit inventory. In-transit, or pipeline inventory, refers to the finished goods that have been shipped by a seller but have yet to reach the buyer. These goods are typically being sold from one company to another, many times from a wholesaler to a retailer who will then resell the items. This wholesale-to-retail transaction can sometimes take a significant amount of time to occur, especially when it involves the shipping of a large quantity of goods overseas from a manufacturer to either a wholesale supplier or directly to a retailer. In-transit inventory can sometimes create accounting and inventory conundrums for companies that fail to effectively track items being shipped from one location to another.
