WHAT DOES IT MEAN? LOGISTICS LEXICON

This month in our Logistics Lexicon series, we’re talking about supply chain management (SCM). Supply chain management is the handling of the entire production flow of a good or service – starting from raw components all the way to delivering the final product to the consumer. It covers everything from product development, sourcing, production, and logistics, as well as the information systems needed to coordinate these activities. Effective supply chain management minimizes cost, waste, and time in the production cycle to maximize customer value and gain competitive edge in the marketplace.

Blue Streak offers a range of supply chain management services and can create a scalable, customized plan to best meet your specific logistics needs. Please contact us for more information.

FUEL SURCHARGE TO INCREASE IN JULY

Due to an increase in fuel charges nationwide, Blue Streak’s fuel surcharge will increase to 8.5% in July. Our fuel surcharge continues to be among the lowest in the region.

How it’s calculated: If the national average price of regular unleaded fuel* is above $1.79 during the last week of any given month, the surcharge will be in effect on the first day of the following month.
