March 2019 Blue’s News

DON’T FORGET TO SPRING FORWARD MARCH 10

Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins Sunday, March 10, 2019. The official time you should change your clocks begins at 2 a.m.

Daylight Saving Time is a way of making better use of the daylight in the evenings by setting the clocks forward one hour during the longer days of summer. In the United States, the time will fall back again on November 3, 2019, when DST ends.

Since DST isn’t federally mandated, two states – Arizona and Hawaii – and four U.S. territories – American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands – don’t observe it. Indiana adopted DST in 2006.

INCREASE IN FUEL SURCHARGE FOR MARCH

Because of an increase in fuel charges in the past month nationwide, Blue Streak’s fuel surcharge will increase to 4% in March. Our fuel surcharge continues to be among the lowest in the region.

How it’s calculated: If the national average price of regular unleaded fuel* is above $1.79 during the last week of any given month, the surcharge will be in effect on the first day of the following month.

*As reported by the US Department of Energy.
