February 2017 Blue’s News

PRESIDENTS DAY Monday, February 20, 2017.

Blue Streak will be open for business and providing regularly scheduled service. If you will not require scheduled service that day, please let us know.

A BIT OF HISTORY

Presidents Day is actually officially called Washington’s Birthday and is a federal holiday. Through the years there has been legislation proposed to change the name to Presidents Day because the holiday falls between Lincoln’s birthday (February 12) and Washington’s birthday (February 22), but the law has yet to be passed. Every year since 1896, the United States Senate has observed Washington’s Birthday by selecting one of its members, alternating parties, to read Washington’s Farewell Address in legislative session.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Blue Streak would like to say congratulations to our CEO Harold Boyett. He’s been our fearless leader for 12 years and, in that time, has transformed Blue Streak into the thriving, innovative, nationally known company that it is today. Thank you for your dedication and hard work, Harold!

FUEL SURCHARGE TO REMAIN THE SAME IN FEBRUARY

Blue Streak’s fuel surcharge will remain at 3.5% in February. Our fuel surcharge continues to be among the lowest in the region.

How it’s calculated: If the national average price of regular unleaded fuel* is above $1.79 during the last week of any given month, the surcharge will be in effect on the first day of the following month.

*As reported by the US Department of Energy.
