BIG SHIPPERS DELIVER LESS THAN MERRY CHRISTMAS

As the New Year arrives, Christmas gifts are still arriving, as well. UPS and FedEx left customers frustrated and disappointed this Christmas as thousands of packages were delivered late, in spite of upgraded, premium service charges. The major shipping companies had higher than expected volume and, coupled with severe weather across the nation, were not able to make their deliveries on time. As a result, many retailers are dealing with unhappy customers, through no fault of their own. Amazon is issuing refunds and $20 gift cards in attempt to appease its customers. Other major retailers have offered apologies via their websites. According to the Washington Post, the retail sales for the week preceding Christmas hit an all time high of $88 billion.

Remember, Blue Streak offers same-day delivery, even on holidays!

FUEL SURCHARGE TO DECREASE FOR JANUARY

Because of a decrease in fuel prices across the country last month, Blue Streak’s fuel surcharge will remain decrease to 10.0% for January. With this, our fuel surcharge continues to be among the lowest in the region.

How it’s calculated: If the average price* of regular, unleaded fuel is above $1.79 during the last week of any given month, the surcharge will be in effect on the first day of the following month.

*as reported for the state of Florida, regular gas, all formulations, on the United States Department of Energy website.
