AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION…
Most people would agree that planning ahead is the best approach to avoiding costly repairs. The primary purpose of preventive maintenance is to reduce repairs to lower the cost of doing business. In essence, you will actually repair things less often if you do a good job at being proactive and heading off those expensive repairs. When you prevent rather than respond, you reduce your costs.
The normal rule of thumb is that repairs cost two to five times more than preventive maintenance. Of course, there is a cost associated with preventive maintenance, too, but the question to ask for your business is how much you spend on repairs versus what you would spend on preventing them.
FUEL SURCHARGE TO DECREASE AGAIN IN DECEMBER
Considering the fact that fuel prices went down across the country in November, Blue Streak’s fuel surcharge will decrease to 10.0% for December. With this, our fuel surcharge continues to be among the lowest in the region.
How it’s calculated: If the average price* of regular, unleaded fuel is above $1.79 during the last week of any given month, the surcharge will be in effect on the first day of the following month.
