HURRICANE DORIAN – UPDATE
As Blue Streak continues to monitor and prepare for Hurricane Dorian, we are making the most prudent decisions as they relate to the safety of our personnel and customer service. As of the latest advisory at 2pm, Sunday, Sept.1, Hurricane Dorian is a Category 5 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph. Even if the storm makes the forecasted turn to the north/northeast, it has the potential to cause significant damage along the entire east coast of Florida – even without direct landfall.
As a result, Blue Streak will suspend service along the east coast of Florida from Ft. Lauderdale to Jacksonville on Tuesday (counties included: Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee, Osceola, Orange, Seminole, Indian River, Brevard, Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns, Duval); depending on the progress, this may also include Wednesday.
As soon as roads and bridges are passable and local emergency personnel have provided the “all clear,” we will resume operations as quickly as possible.
We will continue issuing newsletter updates and using social media platforms to communicate our message accordingly.
We are definitely preparing for the worst and praying for the best.
